Celebrate the Archaeology
& Heritage of Oregon and Beyond

The 12th annual Archaeology Roadshow, with events held in Portland, Bend, Burns/Hines, and The Dalles, focuses on The Archaeology of Food and features dozens of exhibits and activities hosted by archaeologists and heritage specialists , representing universities, tribes, federal and state agencies, companies, and nonprofit organizations.
The Roadshow also invites visitors to bring personal objects (stone tools, pottery, animal bones) they wish to know more about. We’ll have a panel of experts on hand who will help interpret your find. No financial appraisals are given.
This family friendly event gives visitors of all ages the chance to learn more about Oregon’s past and its connections to us today. It is completely free and open to all.

Update as of May 10th 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we have made the decision to cancel the 2024 Roadshow on PSU campus set for May 11. 

On the evening of May 9, campus protests and police action took place in the vicinity of Hoffmann Hall and the Walk of the Heroines where the Archaeology Roadshow takes place.  More protests are planned for tonight, May 10.  In light of these conditions and unforeseen events, we will simply not be able to create an inviting and supportive environment for our visitors nor our exhibitors.  

Deciding to cancel the event is momentous.  A great deal of planning has gone into preparing for tomorrow’s event – and we acknowledge the time and thoughtful work many have put into making the event possible.  Deep breaths.  We hope to see you at one of our future events.
