OAS president Dr. James D. Keyser gives an introduction to some of the rock art research methods used by the Oregon Archaeological Society in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Modern archaeologists can use new techniques in digital image technology to examine photographs of rock art to expand the historical record and preserve images that are no longer visible to the naked eye.
